My Teeth Cleaning Product Discovery

Having just read Donna Miller's article (see links provided below), I was inspired to tell my oral health story. I discovered a product that literally changed my life. I now no longer use toothpaste. I tell all my friends about this amazing product, and everyone tries it. What I've noticed however is that the take up is about 50% - you either love it or hate it. I am clearly in the love camp. But my husband for example, cannot understand why I rave so much about it. Whenever I visited the dentist I always needed to have work done. Apart from being expensive, I've always taken exceptionally good care of my teeth and it didn't seem fair that they always needed fillings or worse still, root canal treatments (I've had two). I know people who never floss, routinely go to bed without cleaning their teeth (gross, right?), yet have no fillings, and no other issues. I concluded it must be genetic. My teeth are just weaker. That was my lot in life. How depressing. I've spent a fortune on my teeth with all these treatments and porcelain inlays. In the UK you have to pay for dentist care (in general), and I go to a very expensive one - a celebrity dentist no less, as with all the problems I've had, I felt I needed to go to the best. All my life I've cleaned my teeth thoroughly yet every morning when I wake - in common with most people I imagine, my mouth would feel unclean. Then last year I met a woman from the US who owns a company that sells Toothsoap. Before I go on, I am not affiliated to her in any way - I was tasked to help her with her online business plans and that's how I got talking to her. Having spent so much time analysing her website, I decided to buy her product - it promised to make a real difference to using toothpaste. I didn't believe her claims - they seemed extraordinary, but I tried Toothsoap anyway. Well - the product is life changing. I never use toothpaste now. I use Toothsoap exclusively. It's expensive, and as I have to import it from the US, it's stupidly expensive, BUT 1. I have not had a filling since I started to use it
2. My teeth are super duper clean - so much so that food doesn't stick to the surface
3. They stay clean all day
4. They feel as if I've just been to see the hygenist
5. The pain I used to feel in my teeth has gone
6. Cold liquids no longer cause pain
7. My tongue is always pink - even in the mornings
8. Breath is sweet!
9. And lastly, (to me this is the weirdest thing), in the mornings, I can't tell that I haven't already cleaned my teeth. When I wake up, my mouth is clean - I mean really clean and my breath is fresh. How can that be? To get these results, please understand that I am fastidious about cleaning my teeth - I don't just run the brush around for 20 seconds. I achieved the above results with diligent cleaning and flossing and also with the use of an electric toothbrush. However none of the points above were true when using ordinary toothpaste. Even when you are tired and don't feel like doing a great job of cleaning your teeth before going to sleep, the payback I get with Toothsoap makes me do it, even when exhausted, because it works. Due to its efficacy, I've found it even has an effect on your behaviour! If you decide to try the product - I have found the best results are with Toothsoap flavours such as spearmint and citrus. I use the liquid and the solid versions. Good luck if you decide to test it out for yourself.

Interesting... I've never heard of the stuff. I'm gonna ask my dentist about it.

Well I bounced into my dentist telling him how marvelous it was and he didn't like it. It contains no fluoride and on the Toothsoap website, (Karen Van Cleef the owner) is adamant that fluoride is not good when added to tooth products and water. I live in an area where fluroide is not added to the water and my dentist says he can't recommend Toothsoap for its lack of added fluoride alone. So what to do? I am faced with an experienced and respected professional who says one thing, and my own incredible experience with the product. Never mind health for a moment, just on a social level - I will NEVER give up this product - it has literally changed my life. Bad breath never happens to me (unless I eat a plate of garlic, and then that would be the garlic, not ME). So this is what I do. I use a flouride mouthwash once every day, in addition to my Toothsoap use. That is my homage to the dental profession.
I spent a bit of time on the Toothsoap website. I know why you wanted to try it. I agree that the ordinary toothpaste a person normally purchases in the store leaves a lot to be desired. I use the Melaleuca toothpolish, it doesn't cost as much as the toothsoap and really is a wonderful product. It too is a US product but the shipping charges are minimal.
It is great to find a product that "does it" for you and I'm happy that you have.
